Campus Tour – POLIMI WIND TUNNEL
The Polimi Wind Tunnel is a special wind tunnel with two test rooms located on the opposite sides of the loop. Due to this peculiar arrangement, it is possible to select the test room that can better fulfill the clients’ request either in a laminar flow or in a turbulent flow situation.
The facility is powered by a flow generator array of 14 1.8m diameter, 100kW fans, for a total power of 1.4 MW.
We are offering a visit to explain the activities and opportunities in the fields of wind-structure interaction, aerodynamics and wind energy.
During the visit you will observe the wind tunnel on working mode and – accordingly with the test schedule -it may be possible to have a close look to the model set-up.
Many old but significant models are on display: bridges, buildings, sail boats and others.

MILAN CITY CENTRE – WALKING TOUR – SOLD OUT
An interesting walking tour in the heart of Milan, breathing its history as you stroll.
From the medieval castle to the Duomo Cathedral, we will end up to Piazza della Scala, where the world’s most famous theatre is located.
Traditions and history blend together during this outdoor walk that brings to life Milan past and present. The tour will end at Palazzo Castiglioni with an introduction to the most impressive example of Art Nouveau architecture in Milan, where the EIBA Opening Plenary Session will be held.
Duration of the tour: 1.5 hours

PINACOTECA DI BRERA – GUIDED TOUR – SOLD OUT
The Pinacoteca is the first museum in Milan and one of the most outstanding image galleries in the world as it houses some of the most prestigious selections of masterpieces of ancient and modern images, as well as sculptures by important Italian artists of the XX century. The Pinacoteca di Brera houses more than 400 works of art ranging from the XIV century to avant-garde works representing the triumph of Italian Renaissance art in the world. Our visit will unfold among the museum’s masterpieces from Raffaello to Caravaggio.

Every Italian city has its aperitivo tradition, but Milan is considered the birthplace and is renowned for its locales where one can practically eat a full meal for the price of one drink.
Traditionally speaking, the aperitivo made its grand entrance into Milanese society around the 1920’s, where friends, colleagues, lovers, and strangers would meet before dinner and have a small mildly bitter drink accompanied by a little food. To this day the aperitivo tradition remains much the same, except the drinks have gotten slightly larger and the finger food leans toward the gourmet…Something you cannot miss during the EIBA Conference in Milan.
